Jessie-May Brown

Head of Communications

I joined PSI at the end of 2025 and am responsible for the strategic oversight of all of the institute’s internal and external communications. This includes leading on the delivery of high-profile events such as PSI’s flagship International Pandemic Sciences Conference, and providing communications support for the Africa Pandemic Sciences Collaborative.

I began my career at an international news agency before becoming a press officer for the UK Government, first at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and subsequently with the Ministry of Defence. I then spent several years in the defence and nuclear industries before being appointed as Head of Communications at Oxford Brookes University in 2017.

I have a degree in Modern European Studies from University College London (UCL), including a year spent at the Freie Universität Berlin. I am a Board Member for the Service Children’s Progression (SCiP) Alliance, a partnership of organisations focused on improving outcomes for children from UK Armed Forces families.
