John Bok Chol

Policy and Research Assistant

John Bok Chol is a medical doctor and global health professional with over seven years of progressive experience spanning clinical practice, humanitarian response, and research project coordination. He holds an MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from Moi University, Kenya. He is currently pursuing an MBA in Healthcare Management at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, London.

John joined the team as a Health Policy and Research Assistant under the supervision of Professor Alice Norton, where he works alongside Nicolas Pulik on health systems research and pandemic preparedness and response. His role bridges policy, research, and implementation, supporting the generation of evidence to strengthen resilient health systems in low- and middle-income countries as well as globally.

Previously, John served with The Global Health Network as a Project Coordinator and Africa Oxford Fellow on the multi-country EDCTP-funded ODIN project, which focused on strengthening environmental surveillance to enhance public health capacity across Africa. During this period, he also contributed to the development of the WHO Interim Guidance on Social and Behavioural Research related to the Mpox virus.
