Lab team
Anna Jeffreys is the Laboratory Manager at the Centre for Genomics and Global Health, Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, Oxford. She is the first point of contact for all issues surrounding DNA extraction, shipment and storage.
Anna graduated in Applied Genetics from the University of Liverpool in 1995, this included a one year placement in agricultural research at Rothamstead Experimental Station in Harpenden. She started in commercial research working on the role of apoptosis in cancer for Pfizer. In 1997 she joined Dominic Kwiatkowski's group as a research assistant working on SNP discovery, sequencing the TNFa gene. In 2000 she briefly left to work on prostate cancer at Yamanouch Research Institute, but in 2002 returned to the group as a Laboratory Manager.
Anna has played a central role in co-ordinating the delivery and processing of the very large number of samples required for the various consortial projects in the MalariaGEN study.
