Isabel Foster

MSc.

Research & Policy Officer, PSI Policy & Practice Research Group

I am a Research and Policy Officer for the PSI Policy and Practice Research Group. The group undertakes applied research on the design on implementation of policy and practice for pandemic preparedness and response.

Within the group, I sit within the Research and Policy team for the Global Research Collaboration for Infectious Disease Preparedness (GloPID-R). We undertake research and policy development to support a coalition of 33 global research funders in their preparedness and response to infectious disease outbreaks. My work includes supporting funders in improving policies for funding a coordinated clinical trial response during outbreaks.

Prior to joining the group, I was the recipient of the competitive International Development Research Centre (IDRC) Global Health Scholar Award for Global Health. While gaining practical experience on funding of One Health research, my research focused on the measurement and impact of stigmatisation of infectious diseases in South Africa.

I hold an MSc. in Global Health from McMaster University (Canada).
