Dijana Spasenoska

Dijana is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Policy and Practice Research Group. At PSI she focuses on rapid research needs appraisals to generate evidence proactively and reactively in response to outbreaks to inform clinical and public health policies and research prioritisation.

She has completed a PhD in Demography at the London School of Economics, focusing on population health in times of socio-political transition. She also holds a MSc in Global Population Health from LSE, and a BSc in Biochemistry from Imperial College London.

As a consultant at the World Health Organization Headquarters her work predominantly focused on understanding and documenting programmatic barriers to immunization to later inform national health strategies, decision-making processes, global guidance, and vaccine technologies innovation. Further, she supported the application of Primary Health Care principles to the design, implementation and monitoring of Global Health Initiatives investments. She has worked directly with numerous countries across the African, Eastern Mediterranean and South East Asian regions.

With her research she aims to advance knowledge on how transitions or times of crisis, both socio-political and public health, manifest themselves on population health, in order to inform health policy.
