Phyllis Tenkorang

MBChB, MWACS, MSc


Policy Research Assistant

Phyllis Tenkorang works as a Policy Research Assistant with PSI's Policy and Practice Research Group through an EDCTP-funded Master's Fellowship. Her role involves mapping and synthesising evidence relating to the implementation of existing legal agreements from UN agencies to identify lessons for future implementation of the WHO Pandemic Agreement.

Phyllis previously worked as an Anaesthesiologist and Global Surgery Researcher, focusing on national surgical policies and economic evaluations of surgical interventions in LMICs. Her interests span global health policy analysis & research, health systems strengthening, evaluation in global health, health economics and mathematical & economic modelling for health policies.

She holds a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from the University of Ghana Medical School and specialised in Anaesthesia & Intensive Care under the West African College of Surgeons. She subsequently received her global health training from the University of Oxford, graduating with a Master of Science degree in International Health and Tropical Medicine (IHTM) with Distinction.
