Harry Harste
Head of Operations & Implementation
Harry is passionate about global sustainable development and contributing towards the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He manages the Centre for Genomic Pathogen Surveillance’s (CGPS) organisational operations and lead on institutional capacity building through supporting global public health partners to build financial, grant management and operational capacity using the Good Financial Grant Practice (GFGP) international standard (ARS1651).
He oversees and manage international projects and partnerships in Africa, Asia and Latin America, working with a wide range of national and international stakeholders including the UK National Institute for Health Research- Official Development Assistance (ODA), World Health Organisation, International Vaccine Institute, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Wellcome.
Harry have 8 years experience working in the Not-for-Profit sector, prior to which I trained as a Chartered Accountant with Grant Thornton (top 5 accounting firm) in London working in audit and assurance for 5 years, with a focus on the audit of not-for-profit and public sector entities.
