Manuel is a British-German DPhil student supervised by Prof. Teresa Lambe OBE and Dr. Daniel Wright in the Oxford Vaccine Group and funded through the Pandemic Sciences Institute Scholarship. His research focuses on pre-clinical vaccine development against New World arenaviruses using adenoviral and mRNA vaccine platforms as well as leveraging intradermal vaccination aiming to improve immunity and pandemic preparedness. He is a licensed pharmacist and earned his pharmacy degree from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. Prior to starting his PhD, he contributed to COVID-19 vaccination campaigns in Germany, where he gained hands-on experience in public health.
