Adebisi Adenipekun

I currently work on the policy elements of the PSI Mastercard Collaborative programme with the Science for Africa Foundation on Pandemic Sciences. 

Previously, as a Graduate Student Researcher with the Policy and Practice Research Group, I supported the scoping review of research prioritisation for high-consequence pathogens to facilitate better global pandemic preparedness and response. I also evaluated the appropriateness of the WHO research cycle framework for high-consequence pathogens research priorities and proffered policy-related recommendations.

I have ten years of experience in health policy and advocacy, public health research, and management consulting. I have worked as an Engagement Manager with a management consulting firm and, at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, was seconded to provide technical assistance to the Federal Government of Nigeria in the COVID-19 response as the Deputy Programs Manager (Policy and Strategy) for the COVID-19 vaccination Crisis Communication Centre (CRICC). Earlier in my career, I founded Lighthouse Global Health Initiative, a non-profit that works with vulnerable populations – adolescent girls and boys and rural and slum dwellers in Nigeria – to lead healthy and productive lives.

I studied for a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree at Obafemi Awolowo University and a Master of Public Health (Health Policy and Management) at the University of Ibadan. I also did a Global Health Leadership Accelerator certificate program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA. I recently obtained my Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, as an AfOx-Mastercard Foundation Graduate Scholar.
