DPhil Student

I have joined the Lythgoe group as a Oxford-Moh Family Foundation Global Health Scholar and DPhil student in Biology. I graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MSc in Evolutionary Genetics (2021). During my masters, my work revolved around studying the transmission rates of the SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern within the WHO AFRO countries. Thereafter, I worked as a Data Analyst for a year (2022-23) at the University of Edinburgh where I was involved in discovering new haplotypes for iciHHV-6 within the individuals of UK Biobank. In my DPhil, I will be looking into developing optimal genomic surveillance strategies for emerging pathogens.
