Corinne Betts

Corinne Betts is a Clinical Trial Manager working within the Horby group of the Pandemic Sciences Institute. She manages a perpetual, observational study (POS), designed to provide data for clinical characterisation of acute respiratory infections (ARIs) in adults presenting to hospital settings across Europe. This study is funded by the European Commission and is led by the European Clinical Research Alliance for Infectious Diseases (Ecraid) which aims to reduce the impact of infectious diseases on individual and population health. 

Corinne obtained her BMedSci degree from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, and her DPhil/PhD from the University of Oxford, where she worked with Prof. Matthew Wood in the field of antisense therapy for the treatment of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. She continued in Prof. Wood’s laboratory working as a postdoctoral researcher for a further 5 years. She then worked as a Clinical Trial Co-ordinator and Operations Manager in the Paediatrics Department, University of Oxford, alongside Prof. Laurent Servais and Dr Sithara Ramdas, managing a portfolio of academic and industry led studies in the paediatric neuromuscular field.
