Randolph Ngwafor

Randolph is a physician and clinical researcher specialising in clinical epidemiology and health economics, with a particular focus on tropical and infectious diseases. He undertook his medical training in Cameroon before completing a Master's degree in Public Health Biotechnology. He was subsequently awarded an African Graduate Scholarship to pursue a second Master's degree in Global Health and Development at University College London. He later undertook postgraduate training in advanced clinical research at Harvard Medical School through the Global Clinical Scholars Research Training (GCSRT) Scholarship. He was also awarded the Gates Foundation MMALA PhD Scholarship and is currently completing his DPhil in Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford.

Randolph serves as a Clinical Trial Manager within the Epidemic diseases clinical Research Group (ERGO), where he works as part of the trial management team to support the delivery of a portfolio of international research studies focused on epidemic and emerging infectious diseases. His work primarily supports the operational delivery of the PARTNERS trial, a multi-country adaptive platform trial for filovirus diseases, and IMASOY, an international programme focused on improving plague diagnosis and treatment, and strengthening the implementation of research findings into practice.

In this role, Randolph coordinates research activities across multiple international sites and partner institutions, supports regulatory and governance processes, oversees operational delivery of assigned workstreams, and contributes to implementation and qualitative research activities arising from programme findings. His work sits at the intersection of clinical research, health systems and global health, with a particular interest in translating rigorous research evidence into effective approaches for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and control of infectious diseases.
