Hosted by the Pandemic Sciences Institute, this year’s conference theme, Getting Ahead of the Curve, will explore how we can work together to better predict, identify and control epidemic and pandemic threats globally.
Building on successful events in 2023 and 2024, this year’s International Pandemic Sciences Conference will again provide a global platform for pandemic sciences research.
With renowned speakers and representatives from the global science and policy community, delegates will share the latest research and innovations, and make new connections with colleagues across sectors, disciplines and geographies.
PSI Director Professor Sir Peter Horby highlighted the importance of this year’s conference:
“As we mark five years since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we must reflect on whether we are now better positioned to predict, detect and control the next pandemic, or will we remain as far behind the epidemic curve as we were in 2020?
“Whether you are a researcher, policymaker or practitioner, this conference provides an opportunity to share knowledge, build partnerships, and drive forward innovations that will save lives and livelihoods.”
Conference programme
Over two days of plenary, parallel and networking sessions, delegates will share multidisciplinary perspectives on how to predict, identify and control epidemic and pandemic threats globally.
New for this year, PSI is inviting early-career delegates to attend an additional afternoon workshop on Sunday 29 June focused on networking and learning opportunities.
Plenary sessions will explore prediction and surveillance of infectious disease outbreaks, next-generation disease control, and bridging the gap between policy and on-the-ground control.
Parallel sessions will enable delegates to discuss focused research areas and together with poster sessions, provide opportunities for early-career delegates to share their work.

Abstract submission
Abstract submission is now open for delegates who wish to give oral or poster presentations at the conference. Submissions close on 21 February 2025.
Supporting delegates from Low- and Middle-Income Countries
Bursaries are available to support delegates from LMICs with travel, accommodation and visa costs.
